What Lurks Behind

Here's another personal piece I've been meaning to paint out for a long time now, and I used a contest on dA to finally force myself to finish it.  It's got a bit of personal meaning for me, but mainly I wanted to capture a sense of impending horror and dread.  I tried to keep the story of the scene somewhat ambiguous, with a few possible different interpretations: while I had a supernatural vibe in mind, I wanted people to sort of fill in the details of what exactly is going on.

Anyways, now that I've uploaded it, it looks super dark, so maybe expect a lighter version to be uploaded later.
